Hey, Dave!

I don’t know if you guys have a church home right now, but you and Catie are always welcome to come to ours!

What about this Sunday, at 11:00am?

It’d be nice to see you guys - let’s grab lunch afterwards! 🙂

Hey, Marie!

I hope all is well with you and the kids! Claire and Johnny love their Creek Kids program on Sundays and we’d like to invite you!

Here’s the info: Sundays, at 11:00am. We’ll save you a seat! 🙂

Hope you can make it, we’d love to see you!

Tips for Inviting Friends

1. Be Yourself

Don’t overthink it! Use words that feel natural to how you usually talk.

2. Think of Other Circles of People

Invite people from communities you’re involved in outside of church, like:

  • Teams at work

  • Neighbors

  • Interest-based groups

  • Group text threads

  • Family chat threads

3. Consider Both In-Person or Online

Some ways you can invite people (including virtually) include:

  • During a hangout or conversation

  • Text or call

  • Email

  • Social media DM or message

  • Share Coffee Creek social media posts (@coffeecreek on Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

  • Post on social media news feeds, groups, or stories

4. Identify a Need

Think about a specific issue the person may be looking for answers about or struggling with, and speak to that.

A Note on Responses

If they accept, that’s great! If you’re available, sit with them during the Sunday message at the same time as the person you invited. Then check in with them afterward on their thoughts.

If they decline, don’t feel bad! Continue to invest in them and invite them back! They’re not rejecting you, church, or God. Maybe they’re just busy! Or it’s a tough weekend. Or they’re not ready yet. Don’t give up on them!
